Die-hard Sodium fans know that anytime they take the field against FC it's anything but friendly! Remember ladies, they are going to be gunning for you. I'm sure they are still hurting from last years State Championship game!
Game Notes:
Forwards - FC's defense is technique & speed based. They are solid but if you get physical with them, they will crumble. If we attack them, put bodies on them and if you get an elbow or hip you give it right back, they will wear down quickly and get beat.
Defense - Elle & Mackenzie. We have seen them before. We need to set the tone early with big, physical, punishing play. We have held these two in check the last two times we played them but you know they can be dangerous. Double teams, body checks, elbows, throw the kitchen sink at them and they will be afraid to come into the area.
We can beat FC by sheer speed off the ball. We are faster at forward & midfield and bigger & stronger on defense. There is no doubt it's going to be a war out there tonight ladies, but the strongest will survive. You need to dig deep and make sure you give 100% every minute of every play. Leave it all on the field. This game will set the tone for QT's.
Bailey & Bethany will be there (I think) cheering you on and you know they wish they were right there beside their sisters battling FC.
It's a good day for a battle.
If it is to be, it's up to me.
